Onto bigger and faster things

So my two cents on the GR Four:

Sometimes you just need to drop what your doing and have a weekend for the boys. What's more mature than flying across the country to play with toys in the desert? Not much. We lucked out with the weather and found some gorgeous places to hike and crawl all over for a few days. Hanging at the RV making food and fixing trucks in the middle of nowhere is just what the doctor ordered.

Finally whipped up some long overdue retrofits for my Crosstrek. The OEM halogen lights leave much to be desired and I've been running these morimoto M2.0 units in my wagon for a few years with zero issues, so in they go. I also swapped out the orange reflectors and put in a diode dynamics LED switchback strip for the DRL/indicator assembly. Should be peachy once everything is out on the car

Took a ride up to Vermont Sports Car with the 48hrs of Tristate fund raising event, ive been to the new facility a few times since the grand opening and its always a treat to see what theyre working on.

Had a late night crave for the Castle.

And to wrap up the Colorado Coupe I built, a dyno tuned cherry on top. At 6000ft it's making 230whp with a VF43 @ 18psi. The air pressure plays havoc on the car, tapping out the stock boost controller at 16psi was limiting me to around 190whp at that altitude and made it tough to dial in fueling. To compare, I had this making 250whp at sea level with the same boost pressure. I may have to spend some time at higher altitudes to get some low pressure tuning under my belt. Big thanks to @shewolves for the opportunity with this car.

Now with big brakes on the car I was feeling racey so I got my 90s JGTC vibe going with a classic set of Volk GT-P's. 17x8 et50, which don't clear brembos by a whole ass 8mm so I need some spacers. 225 Michelin pilot super sports on them for drama free daily driving, no bumper rub, frame friction, or fender folding involved.

I haven't touched anything on my own car since an event this time last year, still driving on leaking Motons and cooked brakes. I decided to step up to brembos and actually get them on the car last night, and boy I've been missing out. Even with the massive increase in rotor/pad size, the calipers are way lighter than the 4 pots so only a 5lbs increase per corner. Rear two pots are staying on, they're a better brake setup than OE brembos. DBA4000 rotors and Porterfield autocross compound pads up front, Carbotech R10 in the rear. I figured I'd weigh everything, for science.

Cats outta the bag on this one! I had a fun time working on this car and even with being the most basic of swaps, it put a smile on my face every time I drove it, and I drove it a lot. I picked this up last year, drove it across the country to rip it to pieces for the swap, then drove it back across the country to deliver it home. All in, about a hundred hours of work and 4500 miles of driving.
